• When it comes to producing timber to a uniform thickness, with parallel faces and edges, a thicknesser is unbeatable. The AP310T2 has power and strength in abundance with a cast iron frame and table, supported on a sturdy steel base. Power comes from a 2.2kW induction motor. The long 930mm long table has additional support rollers at each end. A digital height gauge aids accurate setting.
• By far, the machine’s best feature is the spiral cutter block. Four rows of TC cutters, give an almost perfect finish. The cutters are arranged to produce a super clean shear cut. With each cutter having four edges you can simply turn to a fresh edge when required. If one or more cutters are damaged, then simply replace it. Each edge lasts up to 10 times longer than that of an HSS blade, greatly reducing downtime. There is no setting, saving more time and guaranteeing accuracy. The combination of the angled cutter and curved edge is much kinder on the timber, even heavily figured timber presents no issues with tear-out. The other main benefits of this type of cutter block: much lower noise, and much reduced power required to drive it. The waste chips are much more uniform, being easier to extract and packing more into your extractor's waste container.
